This chapter was reminiscent of Silman’s “The Sdirawan Mind” and is probably more representative of his work rather than Seirawan’s. He used to complain about not knowing what to do next when no quick tactic maneuvers are available. The book follows the same format Seirawan and Silman used in Winning Chess Tactics, taking one strategic element of chess at a time and spending an entire yassdr on it.

It has really started me thinking about chess in a far more constructive manner, and my rating is improving because of this. An important part of this book is the copious number of tests.
Doing so may result in a ban. Again it is tzctics excellent book and I recommend it, I do believe it has improved my play.
There’s a problem loading this menu right now. Clear and easy to understand for those new to chess. As a passionated by tactics, I appreciated all of it, specially the wide variety of exercises at the end of each chapters and the book.
The third party has more “advanced” tests, even though I don’t think they should be called like that, as they mainly contain ideas from the previous chapters, and don’t seem to aim to be difficult to solve. For instance, in the chapter on pins, Seirawan explains the concept of both winning chess tactics yasser seirawan pins and relative pins.
